As Chlorella is a whole food it can be added to an array of cooked meals, fresh homemade drinks and smoothies, salad dressings and much more. Adding Chlorella to your cooking is a great way to benefit from its abundance of nutrients.

Chlorella is a great addition to your smoothie. And mixing yourself up a decent smoothie is a great way to get your daily dose of fruit and vegetables. Chlorella is often offered as an additional ‘shot’ in juices and smoothies. So take a look at our mouth watering selection of juices and smoothies with all the added wholesome, green goodness of Chlorella.

The Green Goddess

Ingredients

8 oz. Apple juice

1-2 tablespoons lemon juice

½ tablespoon of Yaeyama Chlorella powder

1-3 dashes of cinnamon

Mix in a blender for ten seconds. Lie back in your hammock and gaze at the dappled shadows of the swaying trees in the hazy shade of a sizzling summer.

The Green Goblin

Makes 2 servings

2 apples
A small chunk of carrot
1 stick of celery
½ teaspoon Yaeyama Chlorella powder
½ teaspoon Wheat Grass powder
1 large handful of mixed green leaves - watercress, kale, parsley, spinach or whatever other green leafy vegetables are available
1 inch chunk of cucumber
1 inch of broccoli stem
1 small handful Alfalfa sprouts
1 inch slice unpeeled raw beetroot
1 inch slice courgette
1 small piece of lemon, preferably wax-free, with rind on
1 inch slice ginger
2 ice cubes

Feed all the ingredients into a Juicer, chopped into whatever size the machine will take. Then pour the juice into a liquidiser and add the Chlorella and Wheat Grass Powders. Pour over ice, buckle up and feel the energy!

Meanie Greenie Mary

8 oz. Tomato juice

1 teaspoon of soy sauce

1 tablespoon of lemon juice

1 tablespoon of Yaeyama Chlorella powder

Dash of cayenne

Blend until smooth. Don your flip flops, grab your shades and head for the patio!

Fizzy Fantastic

3 cups chilled unsweetened cranberry juice

¾ chilled pomegranate juice

1/3 cup fresh lime juice
3 cups chilled soda water

1 teaspoon of Yaeyama Chlorella powder

In large pitcher, combine cranberry juice, pomegranate juice and lime juice. Stir in the Chlorella powder until dissolved. Add soda water. Invite some good friends round, clink glasses and play your favourite tunes. Fizz-tastic!

Berry, Berry Good for You!

1 banana

1/2 cup raspberries

1/2 cup strawberries

1/2 cup blueberries

1 cup apple juice (unsweetened)

2 cups ice

1 small carrot

1 teaspoon of Yaeyama Chlorella powder

1 inch slice of ginger

Blend all the ingredients, pour into a nice tall glass, phone your mother and tell her how berry, berry healthy you are feeling!

Blacktastically Rejuvenating Chlorella Smoothie

1 cup (250 ml) fruit juice
1 banana
1/2 cup (125 ml) bluberries
1 heaping tsp (5 ml) Yaeyama Chlorella powder

Mix in a blender and serve chilled. You’ll be feeling so full of life after you might want to clear out the cupboard under the stairs, dance round the living room with the vacuum cleaner or have a water fight with all the kids in the street!
